This webinar showcases our researchers’ start-ups, allowing founders to share their experiences of commercialising their research.

Our Hub brings together experts in AI from industry and academia including researchers who between them have launched companies worth $1bn during their careers.

For our first webinar, we showcased two successful AI start-ups founded by our own researchers. Attendees heard from the co-founders of Ångström AI and Vectify AI about their experiences, what inspired them to commercialise their research, and the challenges they faced along the way.

Their presentations were followed by a Q&A session chaired by Lourdes Agapito, Professor of 3D Vision at the Department of Computer Science, UCL and co-founder of Synthesia Technologies.

Rosie Niven

Rosie joined the hub from the regional university consortium Science and Engineering Sourh where she was a Communications and Events Manager. Since 2020 she has held a number of communications roles at UCL. Previously a journalist, Rosie has worked in higher education organisations since 2014, including Jisc and Universities UK where she edited the Efficiency Exchange website.
