Our EDI Pledges

At the Gen AI Hub, we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive community, with Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) at the core of our work. We recognise that the challenges and opportunities of AI can only be fully understood and addressed by embracing a wide range of perspectives. To achieve this, we have outlined key principles and actions in our EDI plan to ensure our research and practices are shaped by diversity and inclusivity.

1. Research and Funding

We will:

  • Embed EDI principles in research

  • Promote diverse participation

  • Aim for a fair funding distribution

2. Inclusive Recruitment

We will:

  • Provide reasonable adjustments

  • Select diverse recruitment panels

  • Put in place inclusive hiring practices

3. Events and Engagement

We will:

  • Host accessible and inclusive events

  • Partner with specialist organisations to reach new audiences

  • Make sure everyone who approaches us receives an equally warm welcome

4. Career Development

We will:

  • Share training and progression opportunities with the hub community

  • Support Early Career Researchers by encouraging a culture of support and development through mentoring and spotlighting good practice

We believe diverse perspectives enhance AI research quality and impact. Our goal is a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and can contribute fully. We will review this action plan regularly in our efforts to continuously improve.
